Application for 2017 Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students and Assessment Methods

Jiangxi Provincial Government sets up Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students to attract more outstanding international students to come to study in the universities and increase the number of the international students in Jiangxi Province and enhance Jiangxi’s international reputation, and the number of the scholarships has already been distributed to each eligible university including Nanchang Hangkong University. 

1. Category of Scholarship:

The scholarship is divided into three categories: Type A Scholarship, 25000RMB for each winner, provided to sponsor international students studying for doctoral and master degrees; Type B Scholarship, 20000RMB for each student, used to sponsor international students for bachelor’s degree and Type C Scholarship, 6000RMB, used to fund visiting scholars or other foreign students who will study or are studying in the university for at least half a year. This year our university has been provided only twenty three Type B scholarships,but our university still has two Type A scholarships and one Type C left last year.

 Zero Type C Scholarships plus 1 left from last year, totally 1

2. Use of Scholarship

In accordance with the stipulations concerning Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students, the university authority has decided:

1) Type A Scholarship

This type A Scholarship has been promised by our university to give to the first two graduates who studied for master degrees for the second year in our university.

2) Type B Scholarship

 According to the dean’s meeting,

A. Type B Scholarship will fund those self-financed students who are studying for master’s degree in our university.

B. Type B Scholarship will also fund those self-financed freshmen who are studying Computer science and engineering, and Civil engineering and those who already started to learn those two majors last semester but were not given  Type B provincial government scholarship .

C. Type B Scholarship will also fund those self-financed freshmen whose original majors are not computer science or civil engineering but who would like to change his major to computer science or civil engineering.

3) Type C Scholarship

▲This Type C will only support those who are studying Chinese Language this semester.

The precondition for applying for Jiangxi Government Scholarship is that any applicant must pay all the fees for the first year even if his or her major is computer science or civil engineering or he or she is a master student.. Without paying all the fees he or she isn’t eligible to apply for and obtain this government scholarship.

▲Deadline for application for Provincial Government Scholarship will last until December5th.

3.Application and documents:

After you are selected as a winner, you must

1).Fill in Application Form for Jiangxi Government Scholarship. You can get the form from the International Students’ Office.

2). Provide the copy of your passport

3). Provide the copy of your health examination

4). Write a Study Plan in China

5) Provide the copies of notarized highest school graduate certificates or diploma and notarized transcripts

The applicants must submit all this documents to the International Students’ Office before December 10th

4. Use of Scholarship money

The scholarship money will be deposited into the winners’ bank cards and the students shall use it to pay for tuition fee, accommodation fee, fee for basic learning materials, fee for internship; and to buy Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Protection Scheme, and living cost. If any winner is found using the money for illegal act or waste the money going to the bar or excessive drinking, etc, the scholarship shall be confiscated. For the winners of Type A or Type B Scholarship, they have to deposit the scholarship money into the university account to pay all the fees needed for further study when they get this money.

5. Selection and publication

The university will form an assessment group to assess all the applications publicly, fairly and transparently, and publicize the final winners on the bulletin board to accept the supervision by the public. After that without much complaint we will submit the name list of scholarship students to the Provincial Education Department for the final approval.
