About Nanchang Hangkong University

    Nanchang Hangkong University,（or NCHU for short）,founded in 1952, is located in the historical and cultural city, Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province in south east China.

    NCHU，admitting students from all over China, is an engineering-based multidisciplinary university which aims at a well-balanced development of multiple disciplines including engineering, science, humanities, management, economics, law and education. It is a higher education institution with a distinctive feature of aeronautics and astronautics and national defense under the joint leadership of Jiangxi Provincial Government and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

    Composed of 21 schools offering a wide range of programs, of which, 58 undergraduate disciplines, 5 first-grade and second-grade mastery disciplines, NCHU now has a faculty and staff of over 2000 people, among whom, over 1300 permanent teachers. Full professors total 180 and associate professors over 410. In addition, NCHU has 5 academicians of Chinese Academy of Science（CAS）and Chinese Academy of Engineering（CAE）. At present, the total number of registered students is22,000, including undergraduates,  postgraduates.

    NCHU now has 10 Provincial level key disciplines with separate key disciplines at National Defense level, 1 key National Defense discipline, 1 key laboratory established by Ministry of Education, 1 key laboratory of national Defense, 2 key laboratory of China Aviation Technology, and 8 provincial key laboratories（research centers）NCHU has established cooperative relationship with universities inAustralia,United States,Finland,France,Canada,Korea,JapanandGermanyand promote study abroad and exchange program with these universities.

    NCHU started international students’ education in autumn, 2008 by registering two students fromNepal. Now the number of International students has reached over one hundred and sixty, coming from the US, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Ghana, Zambia, South Africa, Kenya, Thailand, India, Nigeria, Rwanda, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Angola, Cambodia,Turkmenistan, Tonga, Somalia, Mozambique, Yemen, Central Africa, Micronesia, Antiqua and Barbuda, altogether25 countries. The University has successfully initiated two English-medium bachelor’s degree programs for foreign students- Aeronautical Engineering and Business Administration. Besides, the University enrolls a certain number of South Korean youngsters and a few Europeans for the short-term language and culture program every year.  NCHU is one of the universities designated by the Ministry of Education of P.R. China to admit International students under Chinese Government Scholarships Program.

    In September, 2013 the University has started Master Degree Programs taught in English language. In order to attract more outstanding overseas students to come to study in Nanchang Hangkong University, the University has set up Nanchang Hangkong University Scholarship for International Students, and the university can also use Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students to enroll excellent international students to study in Nanchang Hangkong University. So as an international applicants and if you are excellent, you can come to study in Nanchang Hangkong University by applying for Chinese government scholarship, or Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship or Nanchang Hangkong University Scholarship.
